Family Packing List for Washington, DC!

Family Packing List for Washington, DC!

It's spring break here so we're packing up the car and heading to our nation's capital! Our plan is to visit the Natural History Museum, Air & Space Museum, Smithsonian National Zoo and of course check out all the monuments (and maybe some cherry blossoms) along the way. This is our first time bringing the kids to a city for a vacation (we typically do a warm weather beach getaway) and I was a little overwhelmed when I started to make a packing list.

Here's what I'm planning to bring:

For me:

1. These American Eagle pants are my favorite new purchase. I think I had the same pair in the 90s, haha! They're super soft and lightweight which I think will be perfect for the warmer weather in DC. They come in a bunch of colors and are currently on sale - win!

2. We're going to be doing A LOT of walking on this trip so a comfy pair of sneakers are on my list! My favorites are the New Balance 327 and I'm currently obsessing over this pair for spring.

3. Comfy socks are another must have for me. I love Bombas and I've been wearing these all winter.

4. It seems like the mom is always the one to have to carry everything for everybody so a good backpack is essential. I love the honey color of this one from Walker Goods.

For the kiddos:

1. We have a 7-hour drive to DC, so along with tablets and LOTS of snacks, I'm also bringing a game of car bingo, lcd writing tablet, and wipe-off travel game pad. I also printed out our current Darling Renegade coloring pages. You can download them by subscribing to our mailing list!

2. To avoid tired little legs and all the whining that comes with it, we're bringing the kids' scooters to ride around the city. I love that they can fold up, so I'm hoping we can coat check them at the museums.

3. Finally, I'm planning to pack both our Signature T-shirt and Teelette for my daughter. The t-shirt is the perfect soft and lightweight shirt for day in DC, and she can throw a Teelette on under a dress for dinner.

Now, onto packing!
